CONCEPT
During WWII, US Soldiers traveled overseas to the Philippines with the clothes on their backs, the necessities packed, and of course, extra ketchup. The Filipino natives had never experienced “normal” tomato ketchup, and loved it so much they decided to replicate the sauce with the resources they had available. Resulting in, the new popular flavor of Banana Ketchup to add to your meal.
In the creation of the sauce bottle and box packaging, the style of WWII ration stamp ephemera was used as the inspiration for the bold type, contained spaces, and distressed patterning/texture. Using the style of ration stamps adds to the irony of how the sauce was created in the first place, while capturing the character and feeling of the WWII era.
